Decathlon Rockrider 8.2

I am new to MTB and am looking to buy a new bike. I was in Decathlon the other day and saw a Rockrider 8.2 for £760. I got home and the spec seemed pretty good for the price.

Does anyone have any experience of this bike or Decathlon's bikes in general? If so would you recommend it?

Absolutely superb spec for the money - I doubt you will find better.

Mags rate the value, but as in this months WMB (where its cheaper brother was tested), noted the rather univolving ride and frame geometry.

Had a Rockrider 5XC and did 1600 mostly off-road miles over 18 months with no problems. Their bikes have very good spec. for the money.

The 8.1 @£500 is about the same spec. as the Rockhopper Comp. which is around £680.
The frame geometry may be better on the Rockhopper though.
