Hi all, just signed up to voice my thanks to the guys at HOPE.

After buying a disc brake ages ago (2002) before a long lay off on mtbing I had to replace the pads on it. Got in touch with hope to check the pads were still available, asked loads of stupid semi noob questions and can't believe how quick they were to respond and the lengths they went to make sure I was happy! :D

Result: new pads on, brake working like a dream even after 6-7 years and excellent customer service/communications!!!

I won't be going anywhere else from now on!! :P

strange that you thought pads were not available.
you can still buy pads for all their brakes from any LBS.

Except for the old mechanical brakes that they did.

  • I think they were the original Sport Hydaulics. :? Been ages so not sure.

I've not even bothered to look after them either, last bleed was maybe 4 or 5 years ago and now the new pads are bedded in I'm being reminded how good they are. There was quite a bit of squeal until this week, but it seems to have stopped now

    Chuffed!!!!

Hope are indeed great. Just had the axle and bearings replaced FOC on a 4 year old hub.
  • Hope are great, though they are improved by using copperslip on the back of the brake pads, to stop that annoying squeal.

They do sound like a great company, wonder if they need a process improvement engineer........

They're only just up the road from me.
