Shimano Flight Deck
I have Shimano Sora 8-speed gears with a flight deck computer.
However, the computer is now working only intermittently, and I think this may be because the cord was rubbing against the wheel, and now it has worn down (and possibly through) the wire itself, leaving a dodgy connection. It still registers gear changes fine, and I can change the computer mode using the buttons on the hoods as usual. So I imagine I need to buy a new mounting unit.
Question is, can you get wireless mounting units for 8-speed Flightdeck? And generally, are wireless computer systems any good/worth the extra money? Or do they keep cutting out e.g. when it gets wet?
A wireless unit would presumably solve the problem of wearing through the wire if not properly adjusted.

Shimano list Sora with a wireless flightdeck mount, or rather there is a wireless kit available.
