Hi All!
I'm about to make my first foray into mountain biking after spending most of my prior bike time on the road.
I've got a shortlist of 3 bikes - 2 hard tail, 1 full suss: Trek 4300D vs Giant Yukon FX3 vs Hardrock Sport Disc
Anyone ridden/own any of these? Any and all advice would be fantastic! I think the hard tails suit my budget better, but have found a great online deal for the full suss Giant that is some £150 less than my LBS...so maybe its an offer that is too good to miss?
Thanks in advance.
OAN.

You need to try them ideally to get a feel for the sizing and ride.
The Hardrock and Trek have some decent parts, but are both let down by pretty poor forks that have no damping. This is important if you plan to do rougher rides.
The FX3 is decent value, but that suspension will add a fair bit of weight.
I'd have a look at the GT Avalanche 2.0 and Carrera Kraken - good specs, decent forks.0
