Mongoose Crossway 350??

I'm looking for a hybrid bike mainly for road usage and weekends and riding to work, but also occasional light off road.
I've come across the Mongoose Crossway 350 DISC which looks pretty good, but I can't find any reviews on the Mongoose Crossway bikes.
Are they decent bikes compared with other Hybrid's like Specialzed, GT, etc?
Should I be looking at something else? Budget is around £300.

^^^ Silly remark, for the money and for what you need it'll be fine....just bear in mind you'll probably enjoy it so much you'll want something faster & lighter, but, it's a journey we all go on0

Hmm, I'd be inclined to agree with Tractor Bike.
The suspension fork is totally unnecessary, even for light off road.
At that pricepoint go for one of the in-house brands at places like Evans and Halfords; you'll get more bike for your money.0 -
For many decades cyclists did 'light off-roading' without suspension forks without any problems. Then down-hill mountain biking was invented and bicycle suspension came along.
Much like the trickle down of technology from motor sport to road vehicles, the suspension from the MTB world trickled down to the bikes ridden by Mr and Mrs Average and their kids, John and Jane Average.
Somehow, the bike industry managed to persuade the Average family that if they are cycling on any surface softer and less uniform than plate glass than at least suspension forks are necessary, but perhaps they need rear suspension too. Hell, whilst your at it, you may as well get a suspension seat post.
As you may be able to tell, I'm not an advocate of suspension on anything other than dedicated down hill moutain bikes as they only add weight without actually improving ride quality. So, I would not go for the Crossway. Find something similar but without the superflous suspension.
A quick search on the Evans Cycles site threw this up: Clicky.
I figure it would be better on-road than the Crossway because it is probably lighter.
I figure it would be better off-road than the Crossway because it is based on a moutain bike frame.
