this is my local riding area and im pretty pleased as work is already underway, it says in the article there maybe feasibility into building a technical course for mtb's!!

i have just been up there this morning and i dont know whether it is just me and an over active imagination it looks to me like they are building a mini supercross like course!!

i have been known to be wrong before tho :oops:

The site had previously been home to bleach and dye works, chemical tip, various farming operations, excavation arisings and a smallpox hospital.

im not to worried about that jon as the area has always had the paths (as it is part of the irwell sculpture trail) its just they are recontructing them 8)

Yeah should be fine, as long as you don't crash and eat dirt

There is a perk to living in the hills you know, there are downs as well as ups (although I will admit sometimes it doesn't feel like it :roll: ).

Was down there on Friday between Stoneclough and the prison. My local "easy" riding area.
Is there any maps available showing the extent of the improvements?

i cant find anything but the press realise at the moment, there must be plans knocking about as the work as already started
