I am looking for a new hardtail bike. I have a max budget of £750. I have seen the cube ltd pro which is £748 and looks solid with decent components, Any ideas on any other alternatives. The only ones I can see have some weak components.
I want a bike with solid forks and decent hyd brakes.
Any thoughts

Cube bikes are extremly well specced for the money. You probably wont get any better to be fair. Cube bikes are sorted all round0

Great bikes for the money as Dan says and lovely anodised finish is a nice little bonus. Most obvious alternative at that price is the ever popular Rockhopper - might still be some great 08 bargains about.0

bought myself a Cube LTD Team last week only took it out for first time yesterday. best specced bike i could find for the money and looks fit. top ride aswell.0

I have a cube acid 08. brilliant bike, can't fault it. nice and light, responsive. good hyd brakes and ok fork. only £600 too. save some money!!0

What retailer are you guys buying your Cube's from? On;y seen them on CRC.0

Cube LTD Race here - as mentioned many times before, great spec, fantastic ride, looks amazing! With reagrds to where to get them from, try the cube website and search for dealers - lucky my LBS was a dealer and had no problems getting them in stock - really fast delivery was well - ordered on a Monday, here from Holland on the Wednesday!0

You can find your closest dealer on here http://www.cube-bikes.de/xist4c/web/Dealers_id_16201_.htm
I'm getting my Stereo from Gill Cycles in Ulverston, they've been brilliant with me so far. Small shop but massive on customer service!0 -
mine was chain reaction, cant fault it ordered 9pm sun, in my lounge by lunchtime on tues. fantastic service. quicker turn-around than most local dealers plus a great price0

i used Chain Reaction too. No problems.
Problem with the cube though is that the annodising comes off quite easilty. I fitted a toolbag triangular chape below my frame tube and it's rubbed away some annodising after a few short rides.Salsa Spearfish 29er

I got my Ltd Team 09 last week from www.cyclesuk.com they were really good and got it out to me in really good time considering some of the supply issues I have heard about the Cube bikes I got mine in a week. You will not be disapointed with the bike either. Mine is amazing. Really light, great spec, great to ride and looks cool. To me what more do you need?xgeek wrote:What retailer are you guys buying your Cube's from? On;y seen them on CRC.0

The list of UK sellers is growing steadily. I got mine from Velocity Cycles in Huiddersfield, but there is also 2 more dealers not too far away that have both taken the range on recently. As I've said before, for the money, its a lot of bike.2014 Whyte T-129S0

Thanks for the response.
I have taken your advice and bought a Cube LTP Pro for £748 from CRC. It has XT/LX running gear, pop loc Rock Shox which is fine for me and decent brakes. Also got too admit it look PIMP!
Can't wait should be here on wed/thurs. I have some kit from my last bike (Scott scale 30) to put on as well - Easton Carbon risers, Easton Carbon seatpost, Wireless comp, DMR V12's in white. It will look great and hopefully handle my 8 mile commute easily along with a weekend or two down at Chicksands! They have a great 4X track.
Cheers
Ps.
Here is my soon to be arriving new bike:

Yep went for White and Red. It arrived here late last night and I think its great. I have already racked up 30 miles on it! The only thing I would say is that the tyres are very chunky for 2.25's so might swap for some similar 2.1's that can cut it on the road as well.
It handles beautifully and is very precise. Forks are good with smooth travel and rebound. XT/SLX running gear is faultless. With the carbon extra's it weighs in at 15.8kg's which is pretty good considering it can handle rough terrain.
