Out of curiosity, I would be interested to hear about anyone's experience with this bike, or sub-£400 hub geared bikes; e.g.

no experience of this bike, but good experience with rutland's e-bay shop. I bought two Dahon's from them last summer at an absolute bargain. I think I was expecting there to be a catch as they were nearly 50% off but they were the real McCoy, delivered quickly and ready to go out of the box.
