Hi all,

The shift indicator on the left shifter (Deore XT) was not looking quite right. I took out the two screws to remoev it and found the small spring inside was corroded and broken.

I've emailed Shimano asking if they can simply post me another - anyone know how helpful they are?

Or - any other ideas where to get one?

R

Emailed the contact on the Shimano site - should I be asking someone else? I am kinda hoping it gets to someone who'll just put a spring int eh post rather than have to go through all the official routes.... not sure if they are that sort of company though???

I think you'll need to order the part through a Shimano service centre or through Ultimate pursuits. Plus depending on the model I think you'll need to buy the whole shift indicator unit it isn't broken down to sub parts.

What's the model number of the shifters?
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
