Going to Birmingham in a couple of weeks and wondered if there were any good bike shops in central Birmingham (ie somewhere near Birmingham New Street) worth checking out?

There's On Your Bike, about 15 mins walk, or Cycle Surgery closer to the centre. If you're after an LBS about the only one in town (ish) is Birmingham City Cycles, again about 15 mins walk. They mainly do Trek road bikes.

Given that Birmingham is the second city of England, there is a distinct lack of cycle shops in the Centre.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

The owner (Al) is a great source of advise.
