Halfords bargain

Popped into my local halfords and had a quick route through their bargain bin and spotted a big shimano box marked down to £15, when I looked inside there were a pair of tiagra (ST-4400) shifters inc cables :shock: , suffice to say will be fitting them to my son's bike to replace his 8-speed sora's (will need a new cassette and chain first, so maybe not quite the bargain I first thought!!).

My lifetime bargain at Halfords was in about 1987 when they were selling BNIB Brooks Professional saddles at a fiver each! I bought four!!

I got a Tiagra Braze on Front Mech for £1 in the Halfords in Weston-super-Mare. This was the FD-4400 double mech and it seemed to be a proper offer. They had at least one more left, as they gave me a boxed one and left the one in the display case.

You lucky sods. I live in the Netherlands and we also have a Halfords, but believe me, they have a box with bargains for €2.50 and€5.00 and when you rummage through the stuff in there, thats all the items are worth.It,s usually bicycle bells, chain oil, bicycle clips or reflective stickers that you are likely to find.
