Swapping the Deemax for some EX729 on Hope Pro II hubs (Gold)
The Deemax are bolt through on the mythic at the moment - they are just waaaayyyy to much wheel for the riding I shall be doing so am selling them to purchase said new wheels.
However, I have noticed that the rear hub now comes in a 10mm 'bolt on' flavour.
The mythic has 135mm rear end so sizing is not a problem, just fancy the bolt through.. anything know anything about them, not too much info on Hope webby

Don`t know the difference between bolt on and bolt through, but you can get a conversion kit for the pro 2 for £20.
If you are having them built for you, you should be able to have them built as 10mm, can also get 12mm.
Then you just need the correct dropouts for the frame, and the bolt.0 -
if they are what i think they are. the Qr hole in the axle has been threaded for use with a bolt.
but as Hopes webby is currently so crap with no infos. give them a call."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

That's exactly what I was thinking nick.... not bolt through but bolt on.
I won't be doing any hucking or anything, but like the idea of a safe rear end for even the little girly things I do....
Yep, Hope webby is pretty crap, I shall ring them tomorrow.....
Another thing - I can't seem to find anywhere where the new QRs are in stock (well the new style anyway) - thats assuming I go 'standard' on the rear hub....0 -
Some more info on said hub - exploded diagram and pic of one on bike.
Nick - think it's as you said - supposedly a little more secure than standard QR.

this is the same as on my saint rear hub, and I have the DT RWS.
Its basically the same concept as a 20mm maxle bolt thru.
As dropouts are 10mm anyways, they should fit most frames.
Damn, i'm finding it hard to explain....if my wheel turns up in the next few days i'll get a few pics up if your still unsure0 -
Cheers Ben - I have no doubt that they are compatible with me rear end (oooerrr missus)
If it gives that little extra security on a burly bike I'm all for it.
Plus it saves me £15 on a rear QR skewer.... I always carry a multi-tool so no worries about removing wheel on the trail...
Think I'm gonna go for it (providing I sell the other wheels first ha ha)

i thought that was the 10mm through axle they do? Saint compatible.
here is a pic of my Hope Buld with the bolt fitting.

Thought you were moving the mythic on cheese? What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0

was going to... but in the current climate (financial) just not worth it. Would have made a MASSIVE loss selling it..
I won't be using it to its 'full' potential but I am making a couple of mods to turn it more into a long travel hardcore trai/play bike. Sure it's heavy but I'm not small....
Plus it's just too damn nice to get rid of....0 -

I don't imagine that it's gonna lose more than a few grammes..... trying to lose the 'pimp' look though.... its going to be all black/white with a couple of 'hints' of gold. Thats it...
At the moment, it's begging 'steal me'.. need to tone it down somewhat!
Plus Im 35 now and should have more sombre machines....
The diabolus cranks are heavy, so Im gonna flog them and get a saint double up front and when I can afford it get a new front mech and shifter up front - so the weight I lose on wheels and cranks will go straight back on.. but at least Ill have a bigger gear range for climbs0 -
Sounds good. Did you get chance to ride it before your injury? What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0

Nope!!!
Its ready to go now, just need to index my rear mech. Bought some Goodridge braided gear hose to match the brakes..... I need to pop it to LBS as I 'don't do' indexing
So, within the next couple of weeks I shall be testing her (and the Yeti) for the first time.
Things are tough on the cash front hence the delay.... :?0
