A new wheel!
To rebuild the wheel on a new rim looking at 20 quid build cost, plus spokes and the rim.
Your rim is dead!0 -
what :shock:0
-
If you have trashed it as bad as you say, to a point where you cant even turn the wheel, you need a new rim. And spokes.0
-
what wheel is it?
when you say the spokes have come out, how do you mean?
are they straight pull spokes that have simply un-hooked at the hub or have they ripped out of the rim?0 -
-
will do
the wheel cant move because its against the frame because its out of true
and the spokes have ripped out the rim0 -
I'm afraid I'll have to agree with SSonic, it sounds in a bad way if you've ripped the spokes out of the rim!0
-
oh no!0

if its as bad as you say
im in the market for a new wheel0 -
you may be able to use the same axle though. depending on what you want, a new wheel may be cheaper than rebuidling.--

I've got a 24" Sunn MTX rim on the rear of my Bighit which has been fine for 3 years of downhilling. The strength of the wheel depends mostly on how well the wheel is built though. Mine came from ChainReaction.0 -

lol, is it worse than that, he's dead jim?0 -
yeah woo
ive just taken it to the bike shop
there having a look at it and replacing about 10 spokes
should be ready at 3.00pm0 -
Er, that won't be safe. Spokes normally break at the elbow. If they've been ripped out of the rim as you say, then the rim is damaged. Also, if 10 spokes are being replaced, the integrity of the wheel will be compromised greatly. It will fail again, hard.0

Yes, I have to agree.
Difficult to say without looking of course, but from what you said, ripping spokes out of the rim is fatal, and not been able to turn the wheel due to the warp is usually fatal too.
At the minimum needs a full rebuild.0 -
I remember the day I folded a wheel off my old bike and took it into the shop, like a pancake shape and jokingly asked "can you fix this" With wheels, you get what you pay for and if what come with my new bike break, i'll use the experts like Merlin time & time again.Start Weight 18st 13lbs March 2009
