Weird
Not sure if this is know how topic but anyway...
I've just bought a new mountain bike - very much entry level - but great fun. I've ridden it pretty much non-stop for the last 2 weeks.
Today I used my commuting race bike... and... it felt so weird! The position and handling felt all wrong, the cantilevers felt powerless compared to the disc brakes, and I think I prefer the straight bar position with bar ends to the drops with stis. It's like having my cycling prejudices turned on their head!..particularly the bit re the drop bars.
I'm guessing it's an element of the fact the mountain bike is new, I've never had one before - with suspension/discs etc - and I guess it's a case that the set up/ride position is just very different to road bike.
But weird all the same to feel so uncomfortable on the road bike, when previously I felt fine on it...

I have a number of bikes and each handle differently. If I use one that has been lurking at the back of the stable for a while it does take a while to aclimatise to it.
Jabbing at the brake levers on my fixed in an attempt to change gear is a particulary bad habit :oops:0
