Does anyone know why Kona changed the JTS tubing from easton ultralight to its own brand 7005 butted aluminium, and were the post-Easton (08 on) frames not as good?

  • If you go to konaworld.com, under the community tab there are some forums. In the Tech support forum I'm sure there was a thread about this, with answers from Kona.

In fact, this is what they said in response to a question about why they changed to their own frames for the 08 bikes:

'I like the new frame, we've gone in house for our tubes in the past with Clump and Scandium and haven't looked back. It really makes the production a lot smoother on our end and then new shaped tubes are sweet.'

    where there's two wheels, there's a way....
