Hi

Been told it is OK to remove these, to allow the pads to stop rubbing against the rotor. As the clip can make 3rd party pads sit in a bit.

Any advice would be welcome

Thanks

  • I wouldnt recommend it. The AV spring also retains the pad so u may end up losing one when u remove the wheel.

The pads shouldn't rub on the rotor,if they do they're not fitted correctly. The spring is also there to push the pads apart when the brakes are let off...no spring no worky

you shouldn't get such a big deal of a problem to be hoenst, i lost one of mine on my old juicy 5's, but you do have issues like ibbo said, it helps to keep the pads in place.

My suggestion...if you're asking because you replaced your pads and can't put it back in...then try forcing it in XD, if it's because you think they are useless and they will save you weight then keep them in ;p
