brake fluid on fork

hey,

was messing around trying to sort my brakes out and somehow the piston came out. Due to my bike being upside down, stupidly, i had brake fluid run down the fork lowers, over a tiny bit of the bushing and down the stanchion.

I know that now I will have to rebleed the brake. I cleaned the fork with isopropyl alchohol? Just wondering whether this was the right thing to do? or could the isopropyl alchohol do something to my stanchion/bushings?

Cheers in advance

    It'll be fine.
  • If it was DOT brake fluid just plain old water is the beat thing. You should be fine but you don't really want to be spraying any solvent at the stanchions or seals.

Yep, whenever I'm dealing with dot fluid I either keep a hose or bucket of water handy for mistakes just like this, or hoses popping off bleeders and the like... Evil stuff.
