Giant XTC SE

Hi there,
Just bought my first bike in twenty years, with the idea of getting a tad fitter we'll see!
I opted for a second hand bike just in case it's not for me then I haven't wasted too much money. Picked my self up a Giant XTC SE (hope that's enough info) which needs a few bits doing.
The main problem is that the rear brake lever isnt connected; see photo and since they're hydraulic I have no idea on how to fix it.
Is this something that can be done with little knowledge or can somebody recommend a shop that can fix this for me in the Stockport area; also read somewhere that they need bleeding? similar to a car I imagine?
Thanks for any posts, and sorry if I've missed out any information but it's all new to me AGAIN!
Mike
Ah, how do I add the image?

how toos in here http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=40029
and i would take it to an LBS as you may need parts and it will need a bleed after putting together."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
