Hey, I'm planning on selling my old forks, but they need a bit of tlc. So i was planning on prising up the wipers and giving them some judy butter and oil. On the last forks i did this to i couldn't get the wipers back into the holes on the legs, is there a trick to this, does it have to be done without the uppers in place?

They can be a pin - it is the air trapped under.

Find one of those really narrow pointy straws you get with cans of GT *5. Shove it down the side of the seal and fork stanchion as you push it back.

The last forks i tried were some junk ones rst gilas IIRC, but I want to overhaul my judy SL forks because they sound like they're full of grit and don't really rebound!
