Allez Elite or Allez Sport 09

I'm trying to decide between either the Allez Elite 09 or the Allez Sport 09. Any suggestions?

The big difference appears to be:
Sport v Elite
> Alu v Carbon seatstays
> Tiagra v 105 Groupset
> White v Black/Red

But, in the end it comes down to how much you want to 'invest' in your cycling.

I went for a Sport when I bought a couple of years ago. Then as I got more into my cycling wished I'd gone for the Elite. But now, even more keen on this biking malarkey, am glad I have the Sport as I want to upgrade to a Roubaix (or something Carbon) so glad I didn't spend the extra at the time.

If it were me I'd spend the extra and get the Elite.

With hindsight I wish I'd spent a bit more at the time I purchased my Allez Sport. Both the Elite and Comp used the E5 Aerotec alu frame and came with Zertz inserts.

Might've saved me a fortune in the long run... Nah, probably not!

I bought the Elite (07 model last year) and haven't regretted it yet.

The 105 groupset, zertz inserts and wheels sold it for me over the lower models.

To me it is an advantage that I have no reason to upgrade anything.

If it's any use to you, Dales Cycles in Glasgow have the Allez Elite 08 for £650, with free delivery.

Currently sizes 52cm and 54cm in stock.

Not sure how the spec of the 08 compares to the 09, but it's quite a considerable saving if there's not much difference, and they have your size.

I have an 08 Elite, and if you don't fancy that or it's not an option with the limited sizes, i'd go for the 09 Elite.
