Looking at potentially a couple of Boardmans, using CycleScheme.(sadly we can only use Halfords)

2 possibles on offer at the moment

The only other 'decent' ones at Halfords are Voodoo's ?

  • Very good bikes by all accounts.Lots of happy punters on here and MBR gave the Pro HT 10/10 and WMB the FS 8/10.

Happy lad here with an 09 Team. If they fit you nice you can't really go wrong. Finding an 08 won't be easy but can be done.
  • The 09 models seem to not to have gone up,and have much the same spec as last years, unlike other manufacturers too.

Looking at the specs, it's little things like Juicy 7's, SRAM X0's instead of X9's etc etc. Not huge things that seem to be the difference between 08 and 09's.

I can pick up (assuming Halfords have one) an 08 for £330 with Cyclescheme, if i sell my Carrera for £150 then that's only £180 :)

Or the 09 with slightly higher spec will cost me about £510 - £150 for Carrera....

Hmmmmmm Is it April yet? (our scheme isn't valid till then)

Boardmans are getting excellent reviews so you'll do fine with one of those.

However, don't feel that you HAVE to have a bike from the Halfords store on the C2W scheme. Halfords will order in just about any bike they can source from their suppliers. I've ordered a Specialized on my C2W scheme (also Halfords only) for example.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
