hi guys
got a bit of a problem with a 2005 manitou metel rar shock. Recently brought a giant faith from a friend good bike but noticed after the first ride the spring was a bit to stiff for my weight. went to spin of the locking collar as done many time before but have stumbled on a problem. slackend the rebound all the way off to make it easier and put the platform to minimum. tried to spin the locking collar off but its still stupid tight. After hours of trying to undo the thing i got a pair of grips to compress the spring thinkign this would help but its still not moving. Anybody get any ideas on how to slacken this off so i can get the collar off to remove the spring. if not i think im just gonna end up cutting the spring to get it off
thanks

so how far have you still got to go?
wind it back up tight and then clean and lube the threads.
