Hi, im new to this forum and i have never owned a full sus bike.
I've always been into biking but have never had the money to buy anything decent. A new job has changed this.
I've got £1,000 to spend and there are 2 biks i have my eyes on.
Specialized FSR XC Comp 2009
or
FELT Compulsion 3 2008.
Which would be the best buy? I want to go over the moors etc as i live in North Devon but i still want something good enough to handle a bit of down hill
Thanks in advance

personally it would have to be the FSR XC, the 2009 models are getting some very good write ups!
The FSR suspension works very well, the bike is well specced and the frame is future proof letting you upgrade all the components as they wear out.
good luck!0 -
FSR deffo, felts were a bit turd last year apparently and not entirely proven to have been improved for 09 although early reports suggest they may have sorted them this year.
Check out the Boardmans too!0 -
Specialized is a solid make hard to go wrong with them..
but go test as with anything all our bodies are different therefore we feel more comfortable on different bikes.0 -
Here is the Full Suss 09 sticky:

I looked carefully at the Boardman FS-09, Trek Fuel Ex 5.5 09, and the Specialized FSRxc Comp 09 and have just ordered the FSR on my company C2W scheme. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
Commencal 55 08 model would be my choice0

Where can you get that for a grand then?0
