Hi,

I am replacing my chain and do not usually use a removable link however the shop which built my bike originally put one in. Is it safe to use it again or should I buy a new one/not use one at-all?

Cheers

Tom

I've found them fine to re-use. Ideally get a chain that comes with one...

wipperman/connex is reusable, as is kmc. IRD ones are also reusable.
SRAM road versions aren't reusable I don't think, but I have never used one.

I think the only ones that aren't reusable are the 10spd SRAM ones. 8 and 9spd SRAM are fine, as are Connex and KMC.

Just check the pins though, I've had a couple of KMC quick link pins fall out.Its fine when clips together though so just be careful when you remove the chain for maintenance
