Coed y Brenin's a good bet too. Check out the Tyn y Groes hotel just down the road (google it, they've got their own website).0

CYB for me too. Check out cadair view lodge for accomodation closeby if you want self catering. Driveable for a day at Betws Y coed too
Machynlleth also an option. Did that myself last year. 3 marked mach trails and the climachx and driveable to CYB0 -
Take a look at www.mbnw.co.uk
The guys and gals on there will be more than appy to help and will be up for showing you some trails0 -
Just booked ROSE COTTAGE next door to Afan for June. Good prices so worth a look at.....DaZeD aNd CoNfUsEd....0

I'd also vote for Afan and Coed y Brenin. If you have a car then you can get round a few centres in a week. We did it in October and pretty much rode a different place each day. Had a great ride at Machynlleth - Climachx trail is great, and while Cwncarn is short we've done it a couple of times as a last day/way home ride as it's a really fun little ride.0

To be fair living in south Wales, Cwm is a much tougher ride than most trails at afan, just due to a tougher technical climb and way more rocky terrain.
Coed Y is good, iIwould say Afain has some truly memorable trails but if its a holiday there are so many other trails near Coed Y you can't get bored as you are totally spoiled for choice!0 -
North Wales has the following man made trails East to West.....
Llandegla (near Wrexham)
Penmachno (near Betws Y Coed)
Marin (near Betws Y Coed)
ClimachX (near Machynlleth)
Coed Y Brenin (near Dolgellau)
All definitely worth a visit (must confess not done the ClimachX yet but I'm reliably informed its dam good fun )
If you fancy something different you could tackle Snowdon too :P
Betws Y Coed would be a good and central location to stay as it is within 45 minutes of all the above,

Personally I think CYB both sucks and blows. Spent a weekend there in 2007 and remember it being really good, went back last summer and it was rubbish (go figure) there's very little flow on the descents, just as you get upto speed there always seems to be a 90 degree plus low speed turn and most trails involve the same climb twice.
Climachx is really good though, mostly for the final descent. Because it's really quiet and has a network of access roads you can run your own shuttles and do the descent over and over if you like.
Try http://www.afanlodge.com/
You can spend a couple of days hitting the 4 trails at Afan (5 if you count W2, but it's really just a bit of Whites with a bit of the Wall), then a spend a day at Brecfa just down the motorway, 2 trails there both awesome and the black is a technical killer that tests every MTB skill in the book. A day a Cwmcarn, there's an excellent xc trail there with all the flow and speed you'd ever want, a short freeride section and a really good DH track, not to mention an uplift.0 -
