What some of their big names will be doing this year

Basso looks pretty much Italy bound once the season starts properly aside from the Vuelta. I'm surprised he's not scheduled something like Pais Vasco in there.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Or LBL a hilly classic which would be be right up his stree id have thoughtt, though maybe he feels if it ends in its usual small group bunch sprint he couldnt take Valverde or Cunego.

    MG
Gasping - but somehow still alive !
  • LBL is an Amaury Sport Organisation event.
Surprised to see the strength of their potential Tour line-up.
Thought they'd all be at the Giro.
To say Basso's calander is light, is an understatement, certainly in terms of Giro prep.

He's got that event in Argentina in a week or so, then Tour of Cali as well but it's very light. I'd expect him to do Romandy or something.

There are quite a few one dayers in Italy though which he could do I expect.

  • Looking at that list, there is one obvious race missing. I would have said it is a cert he will ride. (also Nibali and Franco P)
That would be the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. Always starts with a split stage day, that includes a Team TT. Plus lots of nasty "lumpy bits". As it's in mid March, (usually) and very similar to Pais Vasco, it should be ideal.
