Tyre help please
I have had Schwalbe Blizzard sport (now known as the Lugano) on my back end for a while now and not had any real problems ( a puncture or two from flint) until I got back today and there is a half cm gash possibly with flint inside and I have decided it's time to change.
I am riding quite a few sportives this year as well as training, mainly although not always, in the dry and money is very tight. So any thoughts on;
a) If I get the flint out do I need new rubber?!
b) Are the blizzards any good for what I'm using (wiggle says that some pro's use them)
b) Are there better tyres for a reasonable price (under £20 absolute max)
Thanks

Yes - try some Vittoria Rubino Pro's - (folding).
£ 15 - Ribble

They're arguably the cheapest High-quality training tyre you can get.0 -
If you want some more Lugano's I have an unused pair you can have for £15 delivered.0

Ever thought of using super glue to glue the gash back up?
I've done this on a few tyres on both my road bike and my mtb.
You cant use cheap stuff it needs the proper Loctite stuff.
Its never let me down and saves a few quid to
Just clean the gash, leave to dry and glue away0 -
Conti gp4000s are great tyres - well worth paying out for. One of the german bike mags tested them and they were great for speed and fantastic for robustness.0

Hmm, me too, could that be because they are standard equipment on planet-X bikes !:D0 -

Exactly
To be honest they do look like a decent tyre for their budget price, I just swapped them out for some Specialized All Conditions Pro (Quickstep Team edition), as I have had a p*ncture-free life for years with these.0
