MET have very good after sales service for crash damage replacements.

  • Quite like Giro, and have had one for years. Just fancy something different and with a little less market saturation. So I can spread my huge wealth, and not have the same lid as all my mates - avoiding any sweaty mix ups.

U get some decent deals on Bell lids at the mo ... the R-Sweep has dropped quite a bit due to the new model coming out ...

If Giro's fit, stick with them.

I've had Giro's in the past, and when looking for a replacement fancied something different. Tried on many - bought an Ionos 'cos nothing else was as comfortable.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I've had 2 Giros replaced due to quality/warranty problems and was extremely annoyed that the replacements were the bog-standard colours when the original was a team edition. Bell are made by Giro so'd avoid them too. Catlike are really good, a great deep fit and well made - don't feel like they're perched on top. I've also got a Limar which is incredibly light and low profile.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Not had many hats but got a Uvex F1? jobby last year and couldn't believe the amount of adjustment it had.

you did n't give any budget and it is on the dearie me side but i would well recommend it.

But like others have said if what you've got/had is ok why fix it.

Bit silly to buy blind just cos you cant tell your helmet from your mates. All helmets fit slightly different - so no quarantee you will get on with it. Just buy a different colour from your mates maybe ?
  • Ta for the tips.

The mates thing was just a bit of a glip aside really. I can generally tell my lid from their's because it doesn't stink as much.

I just like to have a bit more choice than what I find I'm offered by my LBS / manufacturers with the strongest distribution / most aggessive marketing.

Rather not buy blind. But can always send them back if not happy.

And that way at least i feel that i'm chosing me lid, rather than the shop/Giro chosing it for me.
