'Training' Equipment
Hey there,
What is the deal with so called training equipment. You see it everywhere, training frame, training shorts, training socks! What's next, training handlebar tape?
What are they suggesting? It's not suitable for a race? You should only wear it if you're training for an event?
I suspect that it's just marketing rubbish. They should stop playing us for fools. If the product is any good it should sell itself.
Cheers
Pedro

Training frames can be read as winter frames. Mudguard eyes and clearances etc.
Training wheels and tyres are more resilient. The wheels will have lots of spokes to keep them in true, the tyres will be very puncture resistant.
For training clothing, read 'Cheap crap that nobody wants so we'll call it training gear and charge a premium'.0 -
I think it is a euphemism for cheap and cheerful (and with mudguard clearance etc, for frames). Can't see anything wrong with the concept myself.0

Yup, for training read, inexpensive and expendable and won't break you heart if it gets trashed!Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

i think winter vs. summer is a much more useful distinction for many of us.
training in the summer it is nice to use your best gear. many of us never race anyhow.
but in the winter the best gear, especialliy drivetrain and rims, get a bit shafted by the crap on the roads.
i train with the best equipment i can given the conditions. life is too short to ride crap.0
