armadillo vs krylion
hi, does anyone know the weight of armadillo 25c tyres? i know krylions are 220g but are armadillos heavier?
also, what difference does a few grams in tyre weight actually make to speed/effort etc?
i run armadilos by the way but lots of people say krylions are the dogs and i fancy trying them

If you go for Krylions, and you use it for winter, get the 25s if you can cos they'll be more comfortable.0

I have Armadillos on my current bike and have used Krylions in the past.
The Armadillos are a beaded tyre so is a tiny bit harder to get on and off, but more importantly, are 'much' heavier and a noticeable slower ride than the Krylions. I can't wait for them to wear out so I can put some decent tyres back on.
I would say the Armadillos offer better puncture protection though.0 -
I'd use Armadillos if you're in the 'avoid punctures at all cost' approach, whereas the Krylions are a great, durable training tyre, but you inevitable have the trade-off of performance gains against reduced puncture protection. Armadillos tend to give a fairly 'solid' ride and have pretty poor grip in the wet IME. Finally, you might have a job tracking down 25mm Krylions at the mo' - most people are not expecting stock until March but www.bike24.de in Germany had some a while ago. If you're doing fast winter training I'd chose Krylions whereas I'd use a Schwalbe Marathon if looking for something bombproof.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
