Book for road bike maintenance

Hi,
Can anyone recommend me a good, easy-to-follow, book on road bike maintenance? I've found my MTB book good for general fettering and repairs (although nothing too complex) and so would like to get something similar for my road bike (a Tiagra equipped Giant Defy if that is relevant).
Cheers

Here are a few, namely:
Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zinn-Art-Road-B ... 1884737706
Haynes Bike Book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bike-Book-Fred- ... 019&sr=1-9
Big Blue Book of Bike Repair-Second Edition
http://parktool.com/products/detail.asp ... item=BBB-2
Plus a few more available I'm sure. Doesn't really matter what your bike is equipped with as all types of componentry usually covered.0 -
Hi,
I've got two books on repair (I'm rubbish at this kind of thing so I thought I needed all the help I could get.) The Haynes Bike Book and Park Tools Big Blue book of Cycle Repair.
Of the two the Park Tools is definately the more detailed and probably the one I would recommend. It explains exactly how a professional would go about a job, in detailed and sometimes terse step by step instructions. It really does have everything in it, but you'll find some of stuff requires expensive specialist tools and probably left to a shop.
The Haynes book has more pictures and helpful illustrations. which can make it easier to understand a procedure. It's laid out in more friendly way. It's descriptions are more accessable and it goes out of it's way to explain concepts that relative novices won't be familiar with.
Both these books cater for both road and mountain bikes. They also include stuff on older bikes and modern stuff (make sure you get the 2nd editions) Most of the maintenance is the same on road and mountain bikes, and again both books cater for both, including mountain specific stuff like suspension. If you already have a decent mountain bike book you may not need to buy a new one

The Park is the most useful "consumer" guide, but it's all on their website anway: www.parktool.com. Zinnis fun but, ultimately, not as useful. Then there is always www.sheldonbrown.com
There are more detailed manuals available aimed at he professional mechanic. Barnett's Bicycle Manual is superb and definitive, if a little too americanised, and the opening chapter "basic mechanical skills" should be compulsory reading for anyone intent on taking a wrench to a bike. It's a multi-volume epic best experienced on CD-ROM though and it's very pricey.0 -
Can also recommend Zinns art of road bike maintenance, covers all makes/versions of components etc. I'm an idiot and I can follow it with no problems!0
