Cyclocross - Glasses or not?

Hi there.
Watching cycling.tv this winter I noticed that the pro's never wear glasses when racing. I guess this is because it's easier to blink to get the mud out of your eyes then it is to clean the lenses?
I have read an interview with Sven Nys where he said it can take the irritation in his eyes 2 or 3 days to clear from all the grit that accumulates in a race!
Now that I've started wearing contact lenses I have a choice - wear glasses with clear lenses or wear no glasses at all.
My last race of the season is tomorrow 1pm - answers quick please!
Cheers, Andy

Andy,
For God's sake man - wear glasses!!
As a fellow contact lens wearer, you must surely know the true meaning of the word PAIN when a piece of dust or grit gets under a lens??
I would never go anywhere without glasses of some sort.
