Evening all

A friend of mine is considering a Marin Stinson or a Scott Sportster P6 and has asked me for my thoughts, While I know Marin have a good rep The Stinson isnt something im aware of and I know nothing of the Scott.

I myself have a Giant Yukon and my friend has rode it and really enjoyed it, How would he find the set up of the Scott & Stinson vs the Yukon HT ?

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Thanks

Both are hybrid/city bikes so arent true mountain bikes to be taken properly off road. So depends what type of riding your planning on doing

The scott Sportster has a more road orientated geometry thats that bit more racy
The Stinson is a more of a relaxed cruiser like bike, not really designed to be ridden hard

Thanks for the advice, I should have said it will be used every day for about 14 Miles on tarmac roads and some tarmac cycle ways.

    Thanks Again

The Marin is a "comfort bike", which tends to equate to a bike aimed at the casual cyclist who does short rides at a leisurely pace, and is willing to sacrifice speed for comfort. It will have a more "sit up and beg" riding position, curved handlebars etc. The Scott is sportier, lighter and faster. For the riding you describe it is the one I would go for.

The Stinson is an awful bike, very poorly specced. 7 soeed freewheels should be banned at this price.
