Anyone have a Sigma BC 300 computer? Need help...

The old road bike I recently bought came with a Sigma BC 300 fitted so I thought I might as well use it. It needed new batteries so I'm assuming that the wheel size has been reset and hence need to set it correctly. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this.
I've googled with all different terms but it seems the manual for this does not exist online. I found the BC 400's manual but the setting process doesn't seem to work for the older model.
From fiddling, the only thing I seem to be able to do is to select a number from 1 to 6 using the SET and SIZE buttons when the computer is in SPEED mode. Unless there are only 6 available wheel sizes (unlikely) I remain stumped.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Matthew
P.S. I've posted this on CC as well so apologies if you're reading this for the second time.

Here's all the models + instructions in .pdf format. Unfortunately no 300 listed.

I did find this: http://sheldonbrown.com/cyclecomp_et.html Maybe the number look like something you can enter....
or contact Sigma sport directly here:

Thanks for the reply Tranced. I also came across the Sheldon page but the only adjustment I seem to be able to make is to that one number, from 1 to 6 - which clearly can't be a wheel size. I think the computer may be faulty.

I had one but gave up on it after a while - that and blowing the speed sensor off my front fork during the Tour of Wessex 2006!
