Looking at the 2009 Specialized Allez range and the top Elite model has the E5 frame instead of the A1 frame as on the other models.

I have an Allez A1 and would be interested to know what is special (!) about the E5....

Looking through the archives on spesh's site the previous E5's were columbus tubing.

any thoughts?

I would imagine that the new one will also be columbus tubing - isn't the 'E5' thing a columbus tubeset material?

which means it'll be slightly lighter perhaps?

in fairness the A1 frame is a damned light frame! - one of the lightest alloy frames at that price point apparently.

    ( i loved the old E5 S-Works tarmac frame though - Mmmm)
