I notice Nicole said last night that she was looking for her own team.
What happened to the Halfords sponsorship for women. :?:

Halfords are just backing a men's team, plus Sharon Laws in MTB next season. Nothing on the track (well unless you count the fact Hayles, Tennant & Clancy will obviously ride some track events).
Nicole's gone off to join an expanded, what was the Swift team , for 2009.
Apparently the Halfords sponsorship was only supposed to be for a short period, and I suppose in a non-Olympic year the men's team will get them more exposure, whereas arguably last year it was the women's road team who would. Anyway I'm pretty sure the Halfords road sponsorship is just keeping the seat warm for Sky0 -
Stefan at team swift is a legend
nicole will fly with a team build round here0 -
With Nicole's name and Stefan's enthusiasm hopefully we are seeing the start of a very successful few years of British womens cycling! Hopefully there are sponsors out there that will get behind the best of British!!!!!!0

I get the feeling that they're struggling to get a sponsor given the pitch at the SPOTY.
The other thing I'd worry about for Nicole is that the better UK stage racers have already signed up for other teams - Pooley has moved from Specialised to Nicole's old team Cervelo-Lifeforce, Armistead has joined Lotto-Belisol, Catherine Hare has signed for the Italian team Fenixs Edilsavino etc
Just surprised she hasn't got back to her old routine of racing for one of the top continental teams - after all it was that which allowed her to win the World Cup twice, Giro, Tour, one day races galore, world #1 ranking etc
What's the point of her being the leader of a team but surrounded by a team of UK juniors? Surely last season was just a one off with such concentration on the Olympics and the unique collaboration between Halfords/Team GB which allowed Laws and Pooley to race with her under the GB banner in continental races.0
