Hi Rise or Lo Rise Bars

Apart from the obvious difference in height, is there any difference in performance? I heard Lo Rise is best for XC as it allows better cornering than a Hi Rise?
I'm considering the Easton MonkeyLite XC Lo Rise for doing XC and light DH.

I think the idea of a low rise is that your weight is further forward and you are in a lower position on the bike than a high rise - same idea as a low/high stem.
Of course I may be wrong, it did happen once before...0 -
front end of the bike may tend to lift if your bars are too high when climbing
Comfort would be the other consideration for me. I put 2" rise bars on mine to lift the bars to the level of my saddle to save my back a bit.
See if you can borrow an example of both and try them out. Get whatever feels best to you.0 -
Depends high the front end is to start with! As above, whatever feels best.0
