FdJ Decals, anyone?
Hi there,
I am considering a respray of my winter frame. I want to spray it white, but I'm going to lose the original decals and such.
I like the Francaise des Jeux team bike. Or at least the team logo. I'd also like to have a small French flag on the front of the top tube.
Does anybody know where I could get a hold of such decals? Would a laser printer and sticky clear film do the job?
This is the logo, for those who don't know:

Also, I am not trying to pass my bike off as a Lappiere! I just want to make a plain white bike a little more interesting.
Cheers
Pedro

You can get proper waterslide decal paper for inkjets but I've heard it's a pain to use. Sticky transparent film (third one down) is probably a safer bet.0

That's a fair price, but I don't actually have a laser printer. I'd have to get them ordered from somewhere. I'm just trying to get an idea of what would do the job.
My concern is that the stickers would start peeling at the corners, or the ink would start to fade.

If you're re-spraying the bike, why not get vinyl stickers made up. Just do a google search for vinyl vehicle graphics. Then you can lacquer over the sticker and have no peeling worries. Just check the solvent in the lacquer you use doesn't harm the vinyl.
I guess your only problem will be to find a high enough resolution image to use. Saying that it's not a complicated logo to re-draw and I'm sure someone out there knows what typeface and pantone colours are used.
Whilst you're at it you could go for the complete look this winter!!:

Thanks mate,
I'll check out vinyl printing. I think there is a place nearby which does it.
I've also found a few higher resolution images I might be able to use. Unfortunately I don't have over €400 for all that winter gear. Maybe I can afford a l/s jersey though.
Cheers

I could probably do a set for you. Done quite a few custom stickers for people on this forum in the past.
Let me know the sizes required and I'll see what I can do (for not a lot of cash)Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.0
