I've recently bought a pair of these, reckon the rest of the Assos gear I have is the comfiest clothing I have, first ride out was thinking they're not as comfy as the other shorts I have, wasn't till I was home realised there isn't a padded insert in these!

Is that the same for all of them or is there a different one with one and if not what do other people wear underneath. Can't imagine wearing another pair of bibshorts underneath. Very numb undercarridge by the end! :?

They were very warm for a virually freezing days ride though so that part works!

The airprotecs have the F1 Mille insert, not the airblocks.

Ahhh I think they used to come with them but not anymore then, certainly not on the Assos web site anyway. Old stock with the insert is the way to go.

I wear Assos shorts underneath - my 851's have no insert (didn't think any of the 851's did)
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Looks like another pair of shorts and the risk of VPL it is then!!

A small price to pay to keep me bits more comfy!!

Ribble were knocking out what I assume was old stock at a good price; the item I have is not listed anymore. I prefer not to have shorts underneath.

The new Winter LL bibs have an insert (the latest FI.Mille S5).

Only problem is no-one has them in stock yet.

All well and good if you have 200 quid to spend on basically the same tights as the airBlocks with the new S5 insert. The airProtecs (with the older F1 MIlle insert) are better than the airBlocks anyway, and way cheaper. According to the rep on the Assos stand at the London Show.

The pad in my assos shorts is waaaay over the top anyway. My cheapo Decathlon winter tights are a more comfy ride. True - the build quality isnt as good - but my bum prefers less padding to more.
