Any suggestions as to what to wear for the really cold days......mitts or gloves and which ones?

I have been very lucky to get some gloves from Aldi's that were £5 and have been very good.
I have used them down to about 2c and still had warm hands.

I dont use mitts as it is to cold for me.
  • mitts are a lot warmer but make it more difficult to change gear if you have gears....I don't :D

Lobster-style gloves are probably the best compromise for really cold days - depends on what part of the country you're in and the 'degree' of bad weather you're prepared to endure. Pearl Izumi do the lobster gloves and Gore are a good make too.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
