I need a wired speedometer and cadence monitor with average/max speed functions which will light up in the dark for as cheap as possible!

I've been looking around for ages but can't find a cheap one which has a light!

  • any computer & helmet-mounted light. Try a tescos £10 special if you use a bar light as your main one.. :)

Exactly what I do - it works brilliantly (I use a cateye strada cadence which is pretty cheap and wired, so fits the OP's other requirements too). The £10 Tesco 2xAA Cree makes a great lid light to supplement the main one on the bars.

I did consider butchering a novelty birthday card or similar to hack up a nightlight for the computer, but this negates that need and helps me see better on the road, especially going round corners when the bar light doesn't always pick out the exit line very clearly.

I have one of the little Tesco's lights ( They did come as a pair, 1 white and 1 red ) and use the white one one my helmet which gives my all the light I need to see mt computer

I do the whole head-light thing at the moment but it means I have to move my head to see the thing and spend time aiming the light so it hits the computer - but not at an angle where all I can see is the reflection of the light off the screen.

That method is very annoying - i've seen expensive computers where the digits themselves light up - like digital watches do. Something like that would mean I can just glance at it without taking my eyes off the road too much.

    Any suggestions?

Why do you need to see the computer in the dark for? :D Concentrate on looking at the road, especially in the dark!!
I almopst run over a deer several times in the dark, the bxxxards just run out :D
I just use a Garmin and look at data after not during, but if I really wanted to see it it has a button to select the light which illuminates it for 5 secons or you can select light on continuous which will obviously run down the batter.
To be honest I have only used it to look at the time, or to see how far I have gone.
