hi all
got some manitiou stance forks got them for my gary fisher bitter frame
i have noticed every time the forks compress i get a really loud squelching noise
question is is this normal or is there some thing wrong with them (do they need a service?)
also on the bottom of the forks there is a bolt on one side and on the other just a hole (looks like some thing should be there?
any help or advice welcome
chris

Or what year etc... and which leg do you think there is something missing..

just seems very soft when the fork is compressed and the loud just wondered if there were any thing wrong with them
by the looks of it they are 05 with the silver stanchions
there is a bolt on the right and just a hole on the left try and get some pics up
might just stick them in for a service as i dont know when they were last looked at
any body have a ruff idea how much it costs for forks to be serviced?0 -
Stance forks are VERY basic and given Manitou's rep for poor build quality a couple of years ago I wouldn't bother about it. Just ride them into the ground then buy some Argyles.
Are they Stance Flows or Statics? Either way they are dead easy to service yourself with a few basic tools and a tub of fork oil. I may even have the service manual somewhere in PDF format...0 -
service manual can be found in the link above."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
