My GF wants tyres to match her bike so does anyone know of any road tyres available in celeste (for those not in the know...... celeste is Bianchi green). I know the old Conti GP3000 were available in the right colour but so far I have been unable to find any of these or any alternatives.

Thanks :)

    Thanks :)

I've found the Rubino Pro in the US. They're a bit pricey so I've e-mailed Vittoria to see if anyone has them in the UK.

I think a mate of mine got some from an ebay shop in Australia.

Can find out who if you like?

    Or have a look here:

I don't know if this is where you found them, but they often crop up on Ebay in the USA.

The price of the tyres isn't too bad - it is the postage they are quoting which kills it!
The dollar exchange rate is not helping at the moment either

    Gary.
Oh and I feel like I've been raped by an Orangutan  And I've got legs like Girders

Beat me too it whilst editting my post!

My friend has the cages too and says they look the mutt's nutz !!

Did get stung on RM handling charge though for some reason.......which made them rather expensive in the long run.
  • Coloured tyres are very dubious... Non-black rubber never performs as well as coloured rubber, they get dirty and look a sight (unless you have a thing for scrubbing your tyres) and it seems to me to be the cycling equivalent of the chav's Burberry tartan. Do her a favour and explain this to your nearest and dearest :-) For some reason Bianchi owners in particular think having everything one colour AND coloured tyres is a good idea.

The green stripes of Vittoria Pave CGs are acceptable on functional grounds only for wet or slick conditions but even they can now and then be found in all-black which is much better.

I'll just retire and prepare for the dogs' abuse!

if the main colour on the frame is celeste then i'd steer clear of matching the tyres ... tyres should always match an accent colour rather than the actual colour of the bike imho.

I've e-mailed Vittoria and the celeste Rubino Pro tyres are only available in the UK as OEM fitment on Bianchi bikes. It looks like the US may be the place to get them.

As for the comments on coloured tyres................ my bike has red Pro Race 2 tyres and they look and perform brilliantly.
  • I found Michelin Pro Race Two in light blue a good match to celeste

Just being a wee bit mischevious, but does that mean black-framed bikes `shouldn't' have black tires?
