Need new gear cable (inner)

I have snapped the cable leading to my rear derailleur, possibly after a misadjustment. The snap is just at the STI lever. Could anyone suggest a replacement cable (preferably from CRC, or Wiggle) - are they basically all the same? Do the Teflon-coated ones work better? A guide to replacement would be good too. I presume I don't have to replace the outer? I have a cable cutter.

Ultegra shifters and derailleur.

Just buy the standard stainless shimano cable inners - around £1.25 from parker International. I buy them in bulk and change them fairly regularly to keep thye shifting sweet and reliable. You can also get the outer in 10m rolls and buy the end caps seperately too for not a lot.

Will these lads and some cable ends do the job? Parker would cost me £12.50 shipping :D

    Yes, they'll be fine.

Brand-X is CRC's own-brand - probably comes from same factory in China/Taiwan/Korea/Birmingham as other 'fancy' makes...

Get some Transfil Mudlovers and they will last for years working smoothly with zero maintenance (mine are on their 3rd year of all year round commuting). They are fully sealed and work brilliantly. Before these I was having bad shifting on the rear mech every two or 3 weeks due to water and gunk ingress. They will save you money and hassle.
