Read this in the Daily Mail last week. Previously the limit before you had to pay import duty on items imported by post was £18/€22 as of 01/12/08 this will increase to €150/£105.

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

There's bound to be a catch though, VAT cut my a*se. Many food items don't have VAT, petrol VAT savings will be more than wiped out by the duty increase, no reduction for businesses paying the lower VAT rates (e.g. small businesses like bike shops). So no noticeable changes now and a stonking great tax hike (NI) and a freezing of personal allowances in 2010. Another Labour spin out of control.

Apparently old Gorden has significantly increased tax take since '97 by making sure personal allowances have gone up with wages as well. Thieving sc*mbag, b*st*rds.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
