Are there better brake blocks for Campag Centaur?
Mine are coming up for renewal should I buy Campag or another make? Zipp look interesting, has anyone tried them? If any improvement could be made to the braking I would be pleased. I have discovered that Campag don't make good chains so maybe the brake blocks aren't that good.

i prefer the koolstop salmon in mine, although they wear quicker.
if you decide to go back to campag ones then give me a shout - I have a set of four pads completely unused from centaur calipers as I replaced them with koolstop before I had even built the bike!0 -
I've got Koolstop dual compound on mine at the moment. They have a lot more feel than the Campag pads ans have worn extremely well.

likewise, good VFM and an improvement on the campag pads0 -
SwissStop Green (GHP) are a big improvement - especially in the wet. I tend to use them in the winter. The stock Campagnolo pads aren't brilliant - I just switched back onto a set and am not massively happy though when switching brakes you have to ride them for a week or two to adjust I find.
Campag claim to have improved the compund for 2009 but it smacked slightly of a desperate attempt to justify the 08/09 price differential on the brakes.0 -

Lkewise, and the Koolstop a bit less positive in feel, ie spongy
Campag better in the wet, at the expense of grinding the rim“It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best..." Ernest Hemingway0
