Tight right hander + pointlessly high speed + wet weather =

Road rash on my thigh and shins
A hugely swollen ankle (where I came into collision with the kerb)
A rear wheel smashed completely.. as in the rim was actually snapped in two places leaving one section attached only by the spokes!?

I managed to get a spare wheel and get home but the ankle is horrible. I'm hoping it will go down by tomorrow so I get another ride in. Should I MTFU and go, or MTFD and rest?
Legs, lungs and lycra.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

I thought this was going to be a Floyd Landis thread...

Hope you are ok. Rest it for a week and tentatively see how it feels...

Been reading the SCR thread much

Rest, get well and count yourself very lucky that's all you broke.
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

Nasty. If you're still in pain with the ankle (you could have sprained it) go to the doc or a walkin center! You could aggrevate it by cycling on it.

    Get well soon!
