Hi
I am after some advice on how I can possibly improve the perfomance of my forks? Predominantly, I would like to slow the rebound up so I can then run lower air pressures to allow the fork to move much more plush and use the full travel a little easier. I am roughly 100kg in weight which doesn't help especially when you want to run these lower pressures for full travel. I have found, that if I do run lower presures I get dramatically exaggerated fork dive under breaking.
...I understand these are air forks and don't have the capabilities of a similar sprung fork such as Revelations or Pikes, but these are a far superior quality item, much lighter and considerably cheaper too !
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Don't just tell me to loose weight though, that won't resolve the performance issue ...plus I'd look ill if I lost weight at 6'1"

When using lower pressures you generally need the rebound to be a little faster (as the fork will not return as quick due to the lower pressure). The rebound adjustment will do nothing for the compression charecteristics under braking - in fact, if anything, a slower rebound will cause it to pack down even more over braking bumps.

I don't know if there is a fixed compression circuit inside - if so it may be able to be custom valved, or used with thicker oil.
  • Mmm ! I'll give that a whirl, I hadn't tried that ? I had been thinking about the oil weights but didn't know enough, so thought I'd put the idea out for other to muse over ? I've not heard of anyone who custom tunes Magura forks though ? Thank you.

The fork may be designed to work with one oil weight, I am not too up on Maguras. Could try their customer service department.

I find on the Menjas to compensate for them going through the travel quite quickly I ran more rebound than normal and given how smooth they are I haven't had any problems with harsh rebound... but I am half your weight and can't get a Fox moving properly on 50psi so there we go.
    Rule 64:

Cornering confidence generally increases with time and experience. This pattern continues until it falls sharply and suddenly.
