Broken frame
While out riding today the bike today it started making a creaking noise which I thought was coming from the bottom bracket.A few miles on and the creaking got louder then stopped and the front end started to wobble.I dismounted and saw the frame had come apart where the head tube meets the down tube leaving it suspended by the shifter cables  .I had to get a taxi home.
The frame is a 25 year old Woodrup that has served me well and covered about 70,000 miles.Tomorrow I shall go see Mr.Woodrup and enquire about a new frame.

Isn't that how slingshot bikes got started?
Sorry
If its a steel frame, why not re-weld it?jedster wrote:Just off to contemplate my own mortality and inevitable descent into decrepedness.

But really, wasn't it though? I vaguely remember some of their marketing along those lines, "My bike broke and then rode better", etc.0 -
