Side pull, centre pivot brake adjustment woes
When I cycled as a teenager we all had centre-pull brakes because they had a superior, more precise action. Side pulls were only found on cheap bike.
I now have Campag Centaur brakes and the rear brake is an ordinary side pull brake, not a dual pivot, and I'm reminded of how it's impossible to get them in the correct position, centred on the wheel and make both blocks move at once. The only way I can stop it rubbing is to have the spring tension screw fully undone.
Any tips on setting these brakes up?
